A former full scholarship student of AFTRS, Joe commenced his career in the media and creative industries firstly as a broadcast journalist and then presenter and programmer for Australia¹s leading radio networks.

While still recognised in Queensland predominately for his decade as an on air announcer for Brisbane's B105 and SEAFM Gold Coast, it was Joe¹s extensive understanding of the inner workings of the Media and Advertising industries that enabled him to create TurnerSands Advertising with creative partner Joel Turner.

Surrounded by a world class team of advertising professionals, TurnerSands soon gained the reputation as one of Queensland¹s top independent Creative and Digital Advertising Agencies.

In 2007 the agency was renamed SMART SANDS and is now part of SMART, one of Australia's leading independent, Creative Advertising Agencies.
